Owner Builder Program
• Be your own general contractor as a San Diego owner builder
• Save money
• Retain complete control of your project
If you would like to take an active role in your home construction then JAK BUILDERS’ Owner Builder Program could be for you. You can build or remodel your own home anywhere in San Diego County and save up to 20% of the total construction cost.
As owner builder you would be your own general contractor. We would assist you throughout the entire construction process or throughout a portion of the project. There are many options available to you with our Owner Builder Program depending on how much assistance and subcontracting you need and/or desire. Some of the things we can help you with include:
• plans
• permits
• budgeting
• materials and product purchasing with any contractor discounts we receive
• subcontractor connections
• subcontractor bid review and comparison
• subcontractor selection
• scheduling
• daily job management
• inspections
• problem solving
Also, because we are subcontractors in San Diego for many home construction trades, you can hire us as your subcontractor for multiple phases of your construction and automatically gain some of our services. Services such as scheduling, daily job management and problem solving will naturally be handled by us when we are the subcontractor for consecutive phases of your construction. When you hire us as your subcontractor for enough of the construction phases it’s like hiring a general contractor at a fraction of the cost.
You can save even more money if you are a capable do-it-yourselfer and have the time and desire to tackle a portion of the construction yourself. Do-It-Yourself home improvement is becoming increasingly appealing to many homeowners. Some of the construction tasks our customers have done themselves as owner builder include acquiring permits, hanging drywall, painting, installing baseboard, and installing appliances and fixtures.
Our Owner Builder Program is a viable option if you have the time, organization skills, motivation and patience to be more actively involved in your home’s construction. Not only would you save money, but as owner builder you retain complete control of your home improvement project because you would be your own general contractor.
